crossboundaries architects is a young, Berlin and Beijing based team of German and also Chinese architects aimed at linking the professional and design experience of western architects and consultants to the challenging possibilities of the prospering Chinese economy as well as to millennia of Chinese cultural heritage and the lively, multifaceted Chinese culture. Our goal is to develop high-quality solutions, derived from Chinese culture and architectural needs, based on western know-how and experience.
crossboundaries provides all kinds of architectural and urban design services, especially design development, studies, analyses, and expertise, consulting and design management services. When it comes to construction, we rely on western know-how as well as Chinese experience. More than that, we also provide exclusive resources, knowledge, and connections for Chinese clients who wish to select and contact reliable, experienced, highly motivated and dynamic western architects or consultants for their projects, even if those firms are new to the Chinese market. crossboundaries will manage the process of establishing and maintaining contact.
Being architects ourselves, we actively engage and understand the ways of developing exciting and creative designs responding to our client’s goals. We also provide a flexible resource of workforce that will quickly be scaled up depending on the needs of each project, by teaming up with and subcontracting expert individuals or small and professional firms in Berlin.
We deliver the service of a transnational corporation, and at the same time the flexibility and vigor of a small firm. crossboundaries in turn provides experience with Chinese business culture to western firms, and serves as a bi-directional translator for our planning partners. Together with our business partners in China, we help westerners to understand what it means to design for China, and we help our Chinese clients navigate the western architectural market.
